William Josph Reckling III, aka Recklinghausen, 4 adult children, 6 grandchildren, lives in Columbia, South Carolina, the home of his German (William August Reckling) and English (great-great Grandmother Ella Gertrude Radcliffe of Columbia, both buried Elmwood Cemetery, Columbia, co-founded by greatX3 grandfather, Major Thomsas Weldion Radcliffe (1812, Richmond, VA--1870, Columbiam SC) (15th Regiment, South Carolina Infantry, Co"A" Columbia Rifles) and his wife Rebecca Gary of Columbia.
Reckling graduated with a BA, cum laude, in history fromthe University of Notre Dame, ND, IN, in 1973, studied Classics en Roma, Italia, !970-71, studied (74-75) at the University of California, San Diego, La Jolla, CA, in the Ph.D program of its Muir College, and was a teaching assistant at UCSD, Revelle College, before attending the College of Law of the University of Cinicinnati, where he grsaduated at the top of his class with a Juris Doctor degree in 1978
Reckling practiced law in Phoenix, AZ as an AV rated civil litigation attorney and spent 2 years as an Administrative Law Judge, State of Arizona, before retiring to be near his children and 5, soon 6 grandchildren
He is a fluent Spanish writer/speaker and regularly travels to Central America (El Salvador)where he has close friends.
